Feeling of Summer🌤️

Sunlight that comes🌤️

Beyond the mist

Consoles the woods

Kindles the life

Breaks wintry breeze

Winds blow Silently

Sparking heavy hearts🫀

Filled with flowers and fruits

Flora and fauna🌸

all in a race

Blue rivers flow down slowly

not breaking its natural rhythm

Comely birds🕊️

fluttering butterflies fly together as🦋

shuffled rain drops💧

One morning

passing the mountain crags

The sun rays🌞

Murmured slowly

The message of 'Summer on Earth"🌤️

The new member of our family😍

One night my father got a phone call📲 and a short while later I heard the sound of a motorbike🏍️. He 's been a friend of father's. I saw him bringing a heavy box 📦with holes. After father's friend left, I look out of the box. It look like a black ball with delicate limbs and I was suddenly told "What is this?" but when I checked again ,  I saw a puppy🐕 looking at me with a cute face😍. I immediately tried to pick it up, but my father said "Don't pick it up because it haven't even bathed, pick it up after bathing tomorrow. I waited anxiously until the next day for this little pet .When I picked it up after bathing and milking it, I could see my shadow in it's glowing eyes. In that moment I felt love❤️ for it . All of our family members love it very much . We named it as "Shadow". I feel like it is the shadow of our whole family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Memorable trip😍

As our privet class teacher and all of our friends had planned earlier we decided to go to Galle during the holidays. We started early in the morning from our teachers house 🏡 in Kurunegala. Our route was via Galle, Unawatuna and Seeningama dewalaya. On our way, we had our breakfast 🍛at a restaurant 🏨near to Galle town. Around 11.00 in the morning, we reached Galle. As it was a sunny daywe felt rather hot through out the journey. Our first stop was at Galle Dutch Fort, which is one of the most important place to visit. There is a huge clock tower. We can see the sea in one side of the fort. Then we visit the museum🏰 belongs to the navy. There were so many things to sea in that museum. Ancient boats, parts of the sunken ships🚢 and bottles of wine found there are some of them .That wine bottles🍶 were belongs to Dutch period. The place I liked most was Unawatuna. It was our second stop. I felt like I visited a small foreign country because the surroundings were similar to a foreign country. Actually there were many foreigners too. All of our friends get together and play with a ballin the sea. It was the most memorable thin I never forget. Unawatuna beach was very beautiful. I 've heard some people saying this beach was more beautiful at night🌙. But we were not there until night fall. Our last stop was the Seenigama dewalaya. We went to the Dewala premises at around 4'o clock. We prayed to the god and received blessings and we visited the beach 🌊behind the dewala premises. I felt this beach was more beautiful than Unwatuna. After visiting the Seenigama dewalaya we started the route back to home🏡. We reached our teacher's home at around 11.00 p.m We enjoyed a lot from this trip. We had much fun. We took many photographs📷. This trip was a relief to the mind that was stuck learning. So this is one of the most memorable trips

Satisfaction with bird watching🕊️

Many birds come to my garden. I like watching them. Some of them are crows, parrots, robins, kingfishers, woodpeckers, mynahs, black birds and storks.

The Parrot🦜 is a beautiful bird with green feathers. It has a red ring around it's neck. It has a curved beak too. This beak helps it to catch flies and eat fruits🍒. They break and eat the fruit of the kamaranga tree in our garden. The Kingfisher is also a beautiful bird. It has blue and brown feathers. It's long beak helps it to catch fish🐟. It watches near our pond or a drain and if it sees a fish swoops down and takes the fish to a branch of a near by tree🌳. The Woodpecker🐦 is also a nice bird to be watched. It's feathers are red. It's sharp beak enable it to peck at the trunks of old trees. I often see them crashing into our beach tree. Wood peckers eat fruits and eggs. The black bird or Kauda is an interesting bird too. Their tails are like the tails of a fish. They lay eggs🥚 in a nest made on a branch of a tree. They are very fierce when their eggs are hatched. They drive away the crows that come near the nest. Sometime they make a sound like that of a cat🐈. The Magpie is a small bird. It is black and white in colour, They eat worms🐛. After a small rain I watch them bathe in our pond. They sing sweetly🎵. Some people say they are unlucky but I think they are nice birds. The Demalichchas are always in groups. They are grey and chubby. They eat anything that is found in our compound. Bird watching is an interesting hobby too. I can learn many things about birds and I can relax my mind also. I mostly trying to collect their Feathers but it's a bit difficult...but it's something I really enjoy. It is a hobby that keeps me connected with environment. I  really fall in love with nature by this bird watching . Really bird watching is very interesting. It's very difficult to take photographs📷 as it flies when approaching, so I would like to cite a few photos taken online.

Favorite Place

Sembuwatta Lake....💧

Lake surrounded by pine trees
Sembuwatta Lake is situated in Elkaduwa in the Matale district. It is located close to the Campbell's Lane Frost Reserve in Matale. This is a man-made lake created from natural spring water and adjacent to it's natural swimming pool as well. The lake is 9m to 12m in depth and produces electricity for the villagers living close by It's surface elevation is approximately 1047m. At present, the Sembuwatta Lake belongs to the Elkaduwa Plantation. Although it is a man-made lake, the surrounding natural beauty of the lake is breathtaking. The road to the lake is quite tough to drive on. So a vehicle suitable for driving on such terrain is recommended. Sembuwatta Lake is surrounded by pine trees and tea covered slopes and looks very relaxing. we can choose this better place for an outing. we can have much fun in this place but alcohol drinks are prohibited in this place. This place is visited by many of foreign tourists annually. When we getting to Sembuwatta Lake , From Mathale take the Kandy Road and go past Ukuwela up to Elkaduwa. Travel along Sembuwatta Lake Road to reach the Sembuwatta Lake. I 💗 this place a lot so I went to see the beauty of this place. Here are some photographs taken there.

A visit to the Dehiwala Zoo🦁

It was a fine Sunday⛅. I went out from my home with the food parcel given to me by my mother. I went with the intention of making a visit to the Dehiwala Zoo with several of my friends👭. First we went to Kurunegala station, got on to train and went to Colombo Fort. From Colombo Fort to Dehiwala we travelled in a C.T.B. bus. After getting down at the Dehiwala junction, we walked towards the Dehiwala Zoo. In a few minutes we were at the gate of the Zoo. We bought five tickets and entered the Zoo premises. First we visited the Min Madura🐬. Min Madura was just like a cave. We saw various fishes there. The inside of Min Madura was very cool as it had been air-conditioned. After seeing the fishes, we came out of the Min Madura and went to see the animals. There were about sixty cages where animals were staying. Various animals, from the small bird🐦 to the big elephant were there. The most interesting animal I saw was the most common animal, deer🦌. I got some photos of those deer and other animals. We enjoyed the visit very much and had our lunch inside of the Zoo. We saw almost all the birds and animals in Zoo and left it around 6 p.m. after seeing the dances of the elephants🐘. We came home around 8 p.m. on that day🏡.
