My favourite cartoon😋

Scooby Doo is a wonderful, elegant and humorous cartoon. It's main character, Scooby, is my favourite. His actions and his voice impress me lot. He 's a very funny character, and that is why I like him so much. Sirasa TV telecasts this daily at 4.00 p.m I see something special in this cartoon, dubbed in Sinhala, because the dubbing is excellent. It matches with the action. Thank you very much Sirasa  TV, giving us a great cartoon. Scooby Doo has many friends. They are - Shaggy his best companion; Dphni, Welma, Freddi and Scrappy and his other friends. They are always trying to catch ghosts and solve mysteries. Scooby's and Shaggy's hobby is eating . Their favourite is Scooby Biscuits. Whenever Scooby Doo CID Group needs to solve a mystrey Scooby dislikes it Daphni always gives him one or two biscuits. Then he agrees to go along with them. Scooby Doo has already celebrated it's 100th anniversary. So I think Scooby Doo would last forever.

LIFE😊

Life is so strange

Nothing stays the same

Everything change

But who to blame

Life is like a game

Where you have to lose

Before you can gain

To win you have to face fearful rain

In life... They always say

Don't use your heart

Only use your brain

In life there is love

But the more is hate

No one decide

They all hesitate

And who knows the fate

Our School's Annual Sportsmeet🤾‍♀️

Our school's annual sportsmeet is held in January every year. Students and teachers belonging to the Opal, Emerald, Diamond, Sapphire houses do their utmost to ensure the victory for their respective houses. Our School principal and teachers encourage us to participate in various sports events. Students are getting ready for the sportsmeet very busily most frequently before the examinations.

My house is Emerald. Many events such as volleyball, netball, football cricket, elle, badminton, high jump, and some of other events were over even before the sportsmeet day as those consume more time. I am a batsman and my friends say that I was the best batsman in our team. I do not know how far it's true.

On the day of sportsmeet, we had marathon races and various other athletic events such as 400m*4,100m*4, Nayanathara on Sapphire house became the 1 st place of 100m*4 and 2nd place was Saduni from Diamond house and the 3 rd place was me from Emerald house. It was a memorable day.

Many parents, Well- wishers and distinguished guests came to see the festival. The secretary of the Ministry of education gave a way the prize. He also made a good speech. Our Principal spoke and said that the Emerald house had come first, Opal second , Diamond third and Sapphire fourth. We were very happy on that da because our house got the 1 st place. In the evening everybody dispersed happily

Gardening at Leisure🌹🌻

What a beautiful flowers that nature has given us!🌷. I like flowers a lot😍. That is why I care of flower plants every day. Everyone in the family👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 loves to keep the garden  beautiful. Both mom and dad are busy with work and both of them go to flower or other plant whenever they can. In fact, it helps maintain good physical and mental health. Mom loves to grow flowers🌻. Dad loves to grow crops🌾 that he loves. I also like to grow flowers🌼. We use plastic  flower pots🪴 to grow flowers. Not without the use of hanging plastic flower pots. We grow flowers just for fun😀. In addition to preparing food🥪 during the time the country was lockdown due to corona😷, we also did flower growing. Little by little we grow flowers and now we have many flowers💐 in our garden. I feel immense pleasure 😊every time I see it. Here are some pictures📷 of them.

Annual Educational Tour😋😍

It was a very happy day for all of us😋. We collected all our belongings and gathered in the school premises🏫. We wanted to go to  an educational trip. Several of our parents, teachers and the school premises. A big privet bus🚌 had been parked in front of the school. Our teacher and another teacher asked us to come in a queue and get on to the bus one by one.

As I wished, I got a seat in the corner. We all observed Pansil 🙏and sang the school song. The bus started going.

Now the bus is goin on the congested Kandy road. We started singing, dancing and playing instruments we had brought from homes. The bus was going very fast passing Uyandana, Mawathagama, Paragahadeniya, etc. The speed of the Bus gradually lowered and stopped the bus near to Botanical Gardens, after passing so many important and interesting places. We saw the tea estates where Tamil ladies were busily doing their job. Tops of mountains were covered 🏔️with mist and it was actually a nice scene.

After seeing the botanical gardens we went to the Sri Dalada Maligawa.☸️ The Buddhist priest there told us so many things about the Scared Tooth Relic of the Buddha. Our teacher recalled the Ehelepola story. After sometime we went to see the Bogambara Wewa. We looked at the Madduma Bandara statue with the highest respect and pride

On our return journey we went to see the Peradeniya University as well. I decided, one day I would also enter this University as my brother. But that is not my place . But I am not worried about that because the god have given me the relevant University for my higher studies. Around 8.00 pm we came back to our homes. We were very happy as it was a very important and interesting day for all of us. Here are some pictures I took.

Cooking at leisure🍲🥪🍔

Of course I love to cook with my mom🧑‍🍳. Mom is very busy because she goes to job👩‍💼. But on the weekends, the two of us cook together. It's something that gives me great mental satisfaction. During the time when the country was lockdown due to corona😷, the two of us used to cook🍳 together almost every day. It will be a great relief for my mother when I join with her. And we can also prepare meals in a short amount of time. Snacks🍟, food that suitable for diner🍝, Drinks🍷, Rice etc🍛. are some of that are prepared in this way. Mom and I are overjoyed to see everyone in the family enjoying the food. In fact, many people believe that a dish will be delicious if it is done with the utmost care. Most of the time food that we make is served to my grandparents👴👵. They both enjoy the food very much. It's a great way to spend the leisure time effectively. Here are some pictures that we made previously.

Our temple on full moon day🌷

Devotees of the village come to our temple daily. But on Full Moon🌕 Days almost all the villagers come to the temple as the inhabitants of our village are Buddhists. Most of the Buddhist think that the Buddha deserves worship🙏 and veneration only on Full Moon Days. Even our Nayaka Thera in his Full Moon Day anusasana speaks of the importance of coming to the temple on Full Moon Days and listening to the Dhamma sermon on that day. I think this situation should change.

I also went to temple on the Full Moon Day which fell last week on Thursday. I went with my family👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. I collected flowers🌸🌺 to offer to the Buddha statue. My mother took Gilanpasa. That was tea. She also took with her a small bottle full of coconut oil to light the lamps🪔.

When we went to the temple we saw a large number of elderly ladies had observed Ata Sil. Several elderly men were also among them. Devotees in there hundreds were worshiping Buddha Statue, the Vihara and Bo Tree. My mother, my brother and I sat on the sand in front of the Bo Tree and worship the tree. I heard my mother was uttering the stanzas loudly. My brother and I were following her. After worshipping the Bo Tree we went to the Chaithyaya to worship. There we offered flowers and said the stanzas. Afterwards we entered to the Vihara and sat in front of the Buddha statue where there was a large and congested crowd.

The Nayaka Thera came in a short while and delivered the monthly Dhamma sermon. I was listening to him with interest. He was telling the story of Nalagiri, the fierce drunken elephant who had been sent by Devadatta to attack the approaching Buddha.

After listening to the Dhamma sermon we invoked merit to the gods and our dead relations and came home.

My favourite book📖😍

I was only twelve years old when I read Martin Wickramasinghe's Madol Doova for the first time. It is very interesting 😋children's adventure story. This book📔 is so popular that it has been translated into several foreign languages too. It was also made into a film.🎥

The main characters of the story are Upali and Jinna. We meet Upali Ginivella as motherless child of seven years. After one year of his mother's death his father gets married again. The stepmother is not a cruel woman, but she does not know how to look after a motherless child on other hand, she also cant understand a child's world. Upali does not get the love and affection from his father and mother😔. He feels like an outsider in his own family👨‍👨‍👦. Upali is not interested in schooling. Jinna is Upali's best friend and is also a relation👨🏻‍🤝‍👨🏽. Both Upali and Jinna lead a mischieveous lives with Siripala,  Danagadasa and Hinne Mahaththaya. Upali is a courageous and hard working boy. He loves adventure. After stealing cashew from Upasaka Appu's garden, Upali and Jinna leave home and find work in a hena which is owned by Podigamarala. He teaches them to cultivate and also to use a gun. After sometime, Upali and Jinna go to Madol Doova and started cultivation there. Finally they become good farmers🧑‍🌾🧑‍🌾.
